At Megapol, we see protecting İzmir’s deep cultural heritage, making the identity of the city visible and adding lasting value to its artistic life as one of our most fundamental responsibilities.
In line with this vision, we have restored the historic Anadolu Apartment — built in 1905 and known as İzmir’s first apartment building — through a meticulous restoration process, returning it to the memory of the city.
Among our projects that touch history, we are transforming the former German Consulate General building into İzmir’s first digital history museum. Carrying a deep-rooted past that stretches from the Ottoman era to the Republic into the present day with innovative digital technologies, we aim to help visitors — and especially younger generations — form a profound connection with the past, strengthening historical awareness in a contemporary language.
To crown our physical investments with the unifying power of art, we are bringing to life a vast culture and arts centre of 2,500 square metres within our Megapol İzmir project in Halkapınar. With a modern performance venue, well-equipped art galleries and a spacious foyer, this centre will gather different artistic disciplines under a single roof and become an entirely new cultural meeting point for İzmir.
